Jayden’s had an eventful week, and I haven’t had a chance to update yet. He was admitted to hospital a week ago, dumping again, as I mentioned in my last post. So, they placed a central line and he’s been on TPN for a week. They tried him on a new formula, but it failed because it was a bit soon and he’s back to gut rest and only TPN. He’s had a bit of a fever the past couple of days which they have to watch carefully in case it’s another blood infection, but it’s come back to normal after antibiotics.
They’re wanting to try a G/J tube to see if that works but he has wonky bowel anatomy so it may not and then they’ll need to place a surgical J tube which means another operation for him. This time, the doctors want to keep him in until he’s gaining weight reliably. They’re anticipating a minimum of 2 months, which means he’ll miss his birthday, Grayson’s birthday, his new puppy’s arrival, and possibly Christmas. So, that’s a bit sad for everyone. But if it means he starts to gain reliably, of course it’ll be worth it.
And here’s a photo of Jaydie and his best mate, Elmo. He’s gotten very attached to Elmo in hospital this time and MUST have him with him if he’s going to sleep. It. Is. Imperative.

Poor guy. He has such a tough time of it. I hope he picks up that weight quickly and gets past his latest health issues. The sooner he can come home, the better!
Looks like he’s going to be home tomorrow, Susan! Yay
He’s getting a 24 hour iron transfusion because his blood count is very low, and when that’s done, he can go home. Yay!
That is wonderful news. So glad he doesn’t have to be away from home as long as you originally thought.
